WANTED - A retired politician who DOESN’T want to run for President!
It seems that every former politician who graced the Leinster House
corridors of power now seems to think they are presidential material.
The latest person to throw their name in the hat is the formidable
former Fine Gael TD Avril Doyle from Wexford.
Avril is not a woman to be messed with - there were reports of a
bitter feud between herself and party colleague Mairead McGuinness
during the European Elections in 2004.
The Fine Gael selection convention early next month is fast turning
into a pay-per-view, front row viewing event.
One wonders, however, who else will crawl out of the Fine Gael
archives to challenge for the presidential nod?
